The WEEE (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment) Directive of 2007 requires that all Retailers of electrical and electronic equipment offer customers buying a new electrical product a free method of recycling an old similar unwanted item on a like for like basis. Barretts Digital World have joined the WeeeCollect scheme to satisfy our legal obligations and to offer our customers an effective recycling solution. www.weeecare.com/weeecollect/index.html
Within our own delivery areas (CT, ME and TN Postcodes) we offer a chargeable collection service when we are delivering a new product that has been purchased from us. If we are not delivering your new purchase we will still accept your old piece of electrical equipment back (on a like for like basis and within 28 days of your new purchase) if you bring it into our store in Canterbury. Alternatively you can take your old electrical equipment for disposal to Kent County Council Recycling in Vauxhall Road, Canterbury. If this is not convenient for you the WeeeCollect scheme offers a Free Nationwide collection service, to book a collection or make an enquiry please go to www.weeecare.com/weeecollect/collection.html.
The EU Battery Directive of 2006 came into force on 1st February 2010. Barretts Digital World are fully compliant of this directive as we offer a Battery Recycling point in store for our customers to dispose of their old batteries free of charge.
